EcoCor, short for “ecocritical corpora”, is an open source collection of programmable corpora (for reading and) for research in computational literary studies as well as in digital environmental humanities. The corpora of EcoCor collect literary prose texts coded in TEI that deal with, depict or reflect on nature or human-environment-relationships in a quantitatively or qualitatively remarkable way.

A first prototype of EcoCor was developed by a team of researchers and designers during the #EcoHack2023 hackathon — "Environmental Data, Media and the Humanities" — in May/June 2023 at the University of Potsdam.
